The Empire State Building and leading wedding resource, The Knot (www.theknot.com), are accepting entries to couples who wish to say “I do” at the world-famous icon. For the 16th annual Valentine’s Day Weddings event, 14 lucky couples will be selected to marry at the legendary landmark over the romantic weekend, the one time each year that Empire State Building hosts weddings. The Knot style experts will create a one-of-a-kind wedding experience and provide exclusive planning, fashion and beauty tips to each couple.
Couples looking to marry, renew their vows or affirm their commitment to one another are invited to submit their tales of romance directly at www.TheKnot.com/EmpireStateBuilding now through December 15, 2009. Participants will be asked to submit their love stories, photos and reasons for wanting to have their ceremony at the Empire State Building. Winners will be selected based on the originality and creativity of their submissions, as well as their connections to the world’s most famous building. Winning couples will be notified the week of December 15, 2009.
Weddings on Valentine’s Day weekend have been a tradition at the Empire State Building since 1994. Over the past 15 years, more than 220 couples have been married as part of the event. Last year, couples came from as far as Canada and nine different states to exchange vows overlooking New York City.
